Movement for Democratic Change vice-president Elias Mudzuri has denied posting tweets which warned the party that the coming congress could tear the party apart.

In a series of tweets posted on the MDC twitter handle, Mudzuri is quoted as saying that he did not post the tweets and would investigate the source himself.

The MDC is expected to hold its elective congress from 24-26 May and Mudzuri as well as secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora, are allegedly going to challenge party leader Nelson Chamisa.

Mudzuri is acting president of the party in the absence of Chamisa who left the country to unnamed African countries on a “diplomatic offensive”.

Thabani Mbuisa, one of the followers, asked: “Why investigate himself?”

Chuma responded: “You can ask again. He was testing the waters and discovered they were too deep, he had to quickly jump out. Ngaasatambe namastreets aya.”
