Jonathan Moyo could be right

Exiled former Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo, who has railed against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration since he was forced into exile in 2017, could be right when he says ZESA and Fuel barons are holding the country to ransom and pushing up black market rates.

How does one explain the rationale that Zimbabwe is currently experiencing 8 to 10-hour black-outs because of load shedding which authorities say is due to low dam levels at Kariba.

Downstream, Hydro Cabora Basa is pleading with Zimbabwe and Zambia to stop releasing water as the dam which supplies it with water is full due to Cyclone Idai and if they open the floodgates this will endanger the lives of citizens downstream. HCB says in exchange it will give Zambia and Zimbabwe 500 MW of power for free.

But someone says they will meet at the end of the month, which is two weeks away, to strike a deal! Why wait?
