Zimbabwe vaccinates more than 15 000 in one day, reports 6 deaths

Zimbabwe today vaccinated a whopping 15 133 people today raising the total of those who have received their first jab to 139 133.

A further 1 444 received their second dose bringing the total to 23 500.

Zimbabwe intends to vaccinate 10 million people to achieve herd immunity but has so far acquired vaccines for just below one million.

Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said the government will be importing one million vaccine doses every month.

Sadly the country also reported six deaths today, two of whom died in the past 24 hours, one on 1 April and three on 3 April. All the deaths were in Harare.

There were 32 new cases today and 23 recoveries. The number of active cases rose slightly to 654 with 432 in Harare and 130 in Bulawayo.

Deaths have now risen to 1 531, cases to 36 966 and recoveries to 34 242.
