Kasukuwere granted $3 000 bail

Former Local Government Minister Saviour Kasukuwere who is facing four counts of abuse of office has been granted $3 000 bail.

One of the counts involves Brainworks a company which is the major shareholder in African Sun Hotels and the other involved State land deals which rope in former First Lady Grace Mugabe’s sister Shuvai Gumbochuma.

Kasukuwere appeared before Regional Magistrate Hosea Mujuru and was represented by Jonathan Samukange.

He was also ordered him to surrender title deeds of a Nyanga property, his passport, report twice a day to police, not to interfere with State witnesses.

The State had initially requested a $100 000 bail and asked Kasukuwere to surrender title deeds worth $5 million.
