Inflation slows to 3.6%

Zimbabwe’s annual inflation eased to 3.6% for the month of October, down from the September rate of 4.2%, the government statistics agency said today. Monthly inflation, however, rose from 0.1 % in September to 0.2% in October due to higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. The strengthening of the rand in neighbouring South Africa has pushed up prices in Zimbabwe, which still relies on imports from South Africa.
