Donations to Fund for Public Interest Journalism in Zimbabwe are secure

Donations to the Fund for Public Interest Journalism in Zimbabwe will be secure because The Insider has entered into an agreement with GoFundMe that the funds will only be released after The Insider has submitted the names of the intended beneficiaries.

The campaign seeks to raise funds for the project which is aimed at empowering young journalists to write public interest stories that will be people-centred but at the same time taking the powerful to account.

The funds will be disbursed as soon as the campaign raises its first US$1 000.

The names of the beneficiaries will also be published on the campaign website.

The Insider was cleared by the Global Investigative Journalism Network to let its over 800 members know about the campaign.

Details of the campaign are at:  https://www.gofundme.com/fundforpublicinterestjournalisminzim

The Insider is a political and business bulletin about Zimbabwe, edited by Charles Rukuni. Founded in 1990, it was a printed 12-page subscription only newsletter until 2003 when Zimbabwe's hyper-inflation made it impossible to continue printing.
