Coronavirus continues to ravage Matebeleland South

Zimbabwe today recorded 108 new coronavirus cases, 101 of them from Matebeleland South, but they included 42 cases that were recorded yesterday but were reported late for inclusion in yesterday’s report.

Only 12 people recovered resulting in the number of active cases increasing to 1 275.

Matebeleland South now has 508 active cases followed by Harare with 384, Manicaland with 172 and Bulawayo 125.

Zimbabwe has so far recorded 37 859 cases, 1 553 deaths and 35 031 recoveries.

There was no death today.

The number of new cases seems to be on the increase as only 793 new cases were reported in March but so far 977 cases have been reported this month.

Only 1 985 people were vaccinated for the first time today bringing the total to 280 568 while 560 got their second dose raising the number of people that have been fully vaccinated to 36 423.
