Active coronavirus cases in Bulawayo continue to rise, now 215

The number of active coronavirus cases in Bulawayo continues to rise and now stands at 215 against a national total of 672.

Matebeleland North which is at number two has 164 active cases while Harare remained static at 76.

There were 52 new cases yesterday, 28 of them in Bulawayo, raising the cumulative number to 9 172.

All 11 recoveries recorded yesterday were in Bulawayo and the total now stands at 8 235.

There were no deaths.

Police have warned that they are intensifying enforcement of coronavirus lockdown restrictions because of rising violations of these regulations by both individuals and churches.

They warned churches against holding all night prayers and exceeding gatherings of 100.

The number of cases globally is now 58.5 million with 1.39 million deaths, 40.5 million recoveries and 16.6 million active cases.
