The number of deaths from coronavirus in Zimbabwe seems to be slowing down. Although 31 people died today, 873 recovered bringing down the number of active cases to 8 065.
Today’s deaths included 20 from Harare that were being reported retrospectively. The figure for Harare was not ready when yesterday’s report was compiled. The death toll has now surpassed 1 000 and stands at 1005.
There were 313 new cases bringing the total to 31 320. Total recoveries now stand at 22 250.
Harare recorded the highest number of recoveries at 467 followed by Manicaland with 330. Harare now has 3 426 active cases and Manicaland, 1 149. The Midlands is now in third place with 589 cases while Bulawayo is now in seventh place with 447 cases.
Globally the number of cases has risen to 99.6 million with 2.14 million deaths, 71.6 million recoveries and 25.9 million active cases.
