The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority has increased the price of petrol by 37 cents and that of diesel by 16 cents with effect from tomorrow.

Petrol now sells for $17.44 and diesel for $17.90.

The exchange rate which ZERA used was 16.1073 down from 15.9631 last week.

At this rate fuel is still cheaper in Zimbabwe dollars than that sold in United States dollars which is going for US$1.25 a litre.

Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has promised to end austerity measures this year but prices of fuel are still going up, though by a few cents, each week.
