Why Moyo came in

While Education and Sport Minister Aenias Chigwedere is fuming over the meddling by some of his colleagues into football whispers say Information Minister Jonathan Moyo has long had an interest in football but could not bail out the national team while Leo Mugabe headed the Zimbabwe Football Association because the two did not see eye-to-eye.

Jonathan Moyo bailed out the national team when its trip to Mali was almost aborted and went on to compose the famous Go-Warriors song which has propelled the national team to new heights. This seems to have ruffled Chigwedere who seems to be playing second fiddle to Moyo when football falls under his ministry.

Sources, however, say Moyo only came onto the scene because Leo had left. If Leo had still been with Zifa, the country’s national team would have been where it was. Interesting isn’t it, that the man who has been propping up Uncle Bob will not tolerate nephew Leo.
