Tsvangirai to report performance of ministers every month

Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai today announced that he would be reporting the performance of every government minister to Parliament once every month.

He announced this at a press conference after a meeting of his party’s national executive.

The Movement for Democratic Change executive complained that a lot of government ministers were undermining key programmes of the inclusive government.

It cited Minister of Media, Information and Publicity Webster Shamu, for refusing to implement key media reforms that had been agreed by negotiators and were party of the Global Political Agreement.

“The MDC knows that the obstinacy displayed by Minister Shamu is part of the grand plan by ZANU-PF to undermine the government and (efforts to) create conditions of free and fair elections,” the party said in a statement after the national executive meeting.
