Coper prices are expected to go up by 39 percent by the end of the year if the European economies emerge from the current recession.

This should be good news for Mhangura as production in Zambia and Zaire is reported to be below expectations because of the volatile political situation in Zaire and machinery break downs and spiralling costs in Zambia.

Copper, mainly used in the building and construction industry, is expected to go up to US$1,50 a pound by the year end.
